Close Quarter Combat for Personal Self-Defense
Instructed by Ric Voelker
Course Description: Most deadly encounters take place at less than 7 yards. Twenty-one feet, can be the difference in surviving or not. These encounters can take place in your home, on the street or anywhere in the public.
Anyone can stand still and stationary target, but what if the target is hitting you, has knocked you down, trying to take your sidearm or is trying to stab you? When facing these close quarter situations, keeping your head, using muscle memory and properly reacting could be the difference between life and death. Close Quarter Combat for Personal Self Defense is a one day class designed to enhance your abilities in dealing with these high stress situations. Using hands-on drills and live-fire exercises, the student will master the basic skills and techniques to survive the most common physical assaults. With the use of weapon retention drills, basic martial arts/fighting skills and close quarter live-fire drills, participants will be better prepared to handle these types of encounters. Topics include: use of force review, weapon retention drills, joint locks and manipulations. Striking drills, knife defense, grappling, ground fighting, CQB shooting drills, and multiple threat drills. Due to the advanced nature of the shooting platform being demonstrated, this course is designed for a student possessing an above-average proficiency with weapons handling, retention, and marksmanship.
