Participants must have completed Personal Protection In the Home course. For those needing this course it is available on October 18, 2025. This course broadens the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for avoiding a dangerous confrontation and the safe effective use of a handgun for protection when outside the home. NRA’s Personal Protection Outside the Home (level 1) is a 9 hour course and the advanced level is another 5 hours (which is required for instructors). We will review fundamentals of safe gun handling, proper mindset and presentation from concealment. This course also includes: presentation and movement, point shooting, shooting from cover and concealment, instinctive shooting, low light shooting, engaging multiple targets and one-handed shooting.
Participants must bring:
- Handgun with strong side holster,
- a minimum of 250 rounds of ammo,
- eye and ear protection, knee pads,
- 2 or more magazines,
- concealment garment
- and certification of completion of NRA’s Personal Protection Inside the Home course.
- Refreshments, Friday supper and Saturday lunch will be provided.
We will start promptly at 6:00 pm on Friday evening and resume at 8:00 am Saturday morning.
