Practical Pistol-SCC

We have had many come through the First Shots class over the past few years and there have been requests for a follow-up course which brings the shooters to the next level without investing in a gun, equipment, or ammo before class.

This class will still focus on safety and shooting fundamentals, but we will step up to a 9mm and we will add the holster to the mix.

Working with a holster for the first time can be challenging and dangerous without a little guidance.  We will teach you safe techniques to draw and holster your pistol which will better prepare you for the day you may want to start carrying your firearm for self defense.

We will also work with a more practical caliber for self defense than the .22 caliber we used in the First Shots class.  The 9mm is the most commonly used handgun for self defense because it balances power with cost.  A large majority of our students who attend the more advanced training bring a 9mm because of this practical balance, so the Second Shots class will prepare you for many other training opportunities with Nebraska Shooters or any other instructor of the Art of Pistol Shooting.

You are not required to bring anything to class, but please do not wear open-top shoes or low-cut shirts.

• Belt if needed
• Holster
• Eye Protection
• Hearing Protection
• 50 rounds of ammo
• Instruction

The class fee is $69 paid to SCC and the equipment fee is $30 paid to Nebraska Shooters.  You can pay the equipment fee below.
