DESCRIPTION:This is the NRA course designed to develop the knowledge skills
  and attitude to safely and effectively handle a handgun.\n\nStudents lear
 n NRA’s rules for safe gun handling\; pistol parts and operation\; ammun
 ition\; shooting fundamentals\; range rules\; shooting from the bench rest
  position\, and two handed standing positions\; cleaning the pistol\; and 
 continued opportunities for skill development.\n\nWe will take the time to
  allow you to learn the proper way to get started with your handgun.  Thi
 s is a great class for new gun owners or for people who will be living in 
 a household with handguns.\n\nNRA's core Basic Pistol Course has six major
  parts. We enhance that core class for civilians who want to live responsi
 bly while protecting themselves and their family inside their home. Here's
  the core curriculum:\n1. Pistol Knowledge and Safe Gun Handling\n2. Ammun
 ition Knowledge and the Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting\n3. Firing the Fir
 st Shots\n4. Scoring Targets and Selecting and Maintaining your Pistol\n5
 . Continued Opportunities for Skill Development\n6. The One-Handed Standin
 g Shooting Position\nPlease bring 200 rounds of ammo and eye and hearing p
 rotection. You will also need to bring a sack lunch since there are no res
 taurants nearby.\n\nUpon successful completion\, you will receive an NRA c
 ertificate of completion for The Basics of Pistol Shooting.
