The Pistol Instructor Training begins with our NRA Basic Instructor Training class\, then the Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Course\, and t hen the Pistol Instructor Training.  These 3 classes together form the re quired course for NRA Pistol Instructor certification. (You are not consid ered an NRA Certified Instructor until the NRA Training Department process es your application and issues your instructor credentials.)  This packag e includes the Basic Instructor Training (BIT)\, the Basics of Pistol Shoo ting Student Course and the Pistol Instructor Training so no other courses will be required to obtain your NRA Pistol Instructor Credentials after p assing this course.\n\nNRA Pistol Instructor certification is a requireme nt for becoming a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) Instructor in Nebraska\, Iowa\, Colorado\, Missouri\, and many other states. Remember that the ind ividual states decide all matters relating to their CHP programs including whether\, when\, and to whom they issue Instructor certificates. You must apply directly to your state and meet their requirements for certificati on as a CHP instructor.\n\nThe Training Counselor (Justin Grusing) for th is course has been a Nebraska Concealed Carry instructor for several years so if you are taking this class to prepare for becoming a concealed carry instructor you will be able to get many of your questions answered to ma ke the journey much smoother.\n\nThis is the third part of the three requi red courses to become a NRA Pistol Instructor. You must successfully compl ete the Basic Instructor Training and the Basic Pistol student course as well as the prequalification shooting drills prior to attending this one-d ay course. Parts 1 &\; 2 are offered on Saturday.  Your lunch and snac ks will be included.  We also have on-site accommodations for those trave ling from out of town at no additional charge.\n\nThe instructor qualifica tion will be done the prior Saturday as part of the BIT and student course . You will need to bring your handgun and approximately 300 rounds of ammo (any caliber is acceptable) so you can demonstrate your ability to shoot to the standards required to be an NRA instructor.  You will be required to shoot 16 out of 20 rounds in a 6" groups on an 8" target from 15 yards.  You will be given two chances every day if you do not accomplish this t he first time.  We will have the range open on Friday evening (1/12/24) f or those who would like to get an extra attempts before class begins.  Pl ease keep in mind that you will also be required to shoot the student cour se which consists of hitting 4" targets from 10'\, 15'\, and 20'.  The in structor qualification target can be downloaded here for practice.\n\nNRA Instructor Qualification Target\n\nYou can pay for the class with credit c ard or debit card below or if you are going to pay by check please select the "Pay Instructor Directly" option.  Your spot will not be reserved un til the check is received.\n\nNOTICE: The NRA offers an optional online co urse which you will be certified to teach after successful completion of t his course.  If you would like to become familiar with the material you c an add the online course for $25.
