SUMMARY:NRA Range Safety Officer
DESCRIPTION:This course is approximately nine hours long.  Range Safety Of
 ficer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO\; Range S
 tandard Operating Procedures (SOPs)\; range inspection\; range rules\; ran
 ge briefings\; emergency procedures\; and firearm stoppages and malfunctio
 ns. Each Range Safety Officer Candidate will receive an RSO Student Study 
 Guide\, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure\, an NRA Gun Safety Rule
 s brochure\, an Instructor Application/Course Evaluation form.\n\nNRA Rang
 e Safety Officers possess the knowledge\, skills\, and attitude essential 
 to organizing\, conducting\, and supervising safe shooting activities and 
 range operations indoors and outdoors.\n\nThe NRA developed its program in
  response to the demand for a nationally-recognized Range Safety Officer (
 "RSO") certification. Our class and the certification will be especially v
 aluable to firearms instructors.\n\nPlease bring a sack lunch since there 
 are no restaurants nearby and we will likely work through lunch.\n\nThere 
 are no prerequisites for this course.  All materials will be provided.\n\
 nCredentialing Fees:\n\nFirst time Non NRA Member instructors\, Coaches\, 
 and Range Safety Officers pay a flat credentialing fee of $60 for a 2 year
  term. Additional ratings can be added at a rate of $30 per rating and ren
 ewals are $60 for a 2 year term regardless of how many ratings are being r
 enewed.\n\n** NRA Members credentialing fees are $35 for a 2 year term and
  additional ratings can be added at $15 per rating.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nRefund P
