The Pistol Instructor Training begins with our NRA Basic Instructor Training class\, then the Ba sics of Pistol Shooting Student Course\, and then the Pistol Instructor Tr aining.  These 3 classes together form the required course for NRA Pistol Instructor certification. (You are not considered an NRA Certified Instru ctor until the NRA Training Department processes your application and issu es your instructor credentials.)  This package includes the Basic Instruc tor Training (BIT)\, the Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Course and the Pistol Instructor Training so no other courses will be required to obtain your NRA Pistol Instructor Credentials after passing this course. The NRA is now suggesting instructor candidates complete the NRA Online Blended Le arning course prior to class so you will be familiar with the material som e of your students will be getting before coming to you.  If you want a c oupon for the optional online course\, please include it with your checkou t below.  (This will save you approximately $35 compared to buying it onl ine directly.)\n\nNRA Pistol Instructor certification is a requirement fo r becoming a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) Instructor in Nebraska\, Iowa \, Colorado\, Missouri\, and many other states. Remember that the individu al states decide all matters relating to their CHP programs including whet her\, when\, and to whom they issue Instructor certificates. You must appl y directly to your state and meet their requirements for certification as a CHP instructor.\n\nThe Training Counselor (Justin Grusing) for this co urse has been a Nebraska Concealed Carry instructor for several years so i f you are taking this class to prepare for becoming a concealed carry inst ructor you will be able to get many of your questions answered to make the journey much smoother.  For more information on becoming a concealed han dgun instructor\, please read this article.\n\nThis is a full weekend whic h includes the Basic Instructor Training and the Basic Pistol student cou rse as well as the prequalification shooting drills and the actual instruc tor course.  Your lunches and snacks will be included.  We also have on- site accommodations for those traveling from out of town at no additional charge.\n\nYou will need to bring your handgun and approximately 300 round s of ammo (any caliber is acceptable) so you can demonstrate your ability to shoot to the standards required to be an NRA instructor.  You will be required to shoot 16 out of 20 rounds in a 6" groups on an 8" target from 15 yards.  You will be given two chances every day if you do not accompli sh this the first time.  We will have the range open on Friday evening fo r those who would like to get an extra two chances before class begins.  Please keep in mind that you will also be required to shoot the student co urse which consists of hitting 4" targets from 10'\, 15'\, and 20'.  The Instructor Qualification practice target can be downloaded and printer by clicking here:\n\nNRA Instructor Qualification Target\n\nYou can pay for t he class with credit card or debit card below or if you are going to pay by check please select the "Pay Instructor Directly" option.  Your spot w ill not be reserved until the check is received.\n\nNOTICE: The NRA offers an optional online course which you will be certified to teach after succ essful completion of this course.  If you would like to become familiar w ith the material you can add the online course for $25.
