The Pistol Instructor Training begins with our NRA Basic Instructor Training class\, then the Ba sics of Pistol Shooting Student Course\, and then the Pistol Instructor Tr aining.  These 3 classes together form the required course for NRA Pistol Instructor certification. (You are not considered an NRA Certified Instru ctor until the NRA Training Department processes your application and issu es your instructor credentials.)  This package includes the Basic Instruc tor Training (BIT)\, the Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Course and the Pistol Instructor Training so no other courses will be required to obtain your NRA Pistol Instructor Credentials after passing this course. The NRA is now suggesting instructor candidates complete the NRA Online Blended Le arning course prior to class so you will be familiar with the material som e of your students will be getting before coming to you.  If you want a c oupon for the online course\, please include it with your checkout below.   (This will save you approximately $35 compared to buying it online dire ctly.)\n\nNRA Pistol Instructor certification is a requirement for becomi ng a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) Instructor in Nebraska\, Iowa\, Color ado\, Missouri\, and many other states. Remember that the individual state s decide all matters relating to their CHP programs including whether\, wh en\, and to whom they issue Instructor certificates. You must apply direct ly to your state and meet their requirements for certification as a CHP instructor.\n\nThe Training Counselor (Justin Grusing) for this course has been a Nebraska Concealed Carry instructor for several years so if you ar e taking this class to prepare for becoming a concealed carry instructor y ou will be able to get many of your questions answered to make the journe y much smoother.\n\nThis is a full weekend which includes the Basic Instru ctor Training and the Basic Pistol student course as well as the prequali fication shooting drills and the actual instructor course.  Your lunches and snacks will be included.  We also have on-site accommodations for tho se traveling from out of town at no additional charge.\n\nYou will need to bring your handgun and approximately 300 rounds of ammo (any caliber is a cceptable) so you can demonstrate your ability to shoot to the standards r equired to be an NRA instructor.  You will be required to shoot 16 out of 20 rounds in a 6" groups on an 8" target from 15 yards.  You will be giv en two chances every day if you do not accomplish this the first time.  W e will have the range open on Friday evening for those who would like to g et an extra two chances before class begins.  Please keep in mind that yo u will also be required to shoot the student course which consists of hitt ing 4" targets from 10'\, 15'\, and 20'.  The instructor qualification ta rget can be downloaded here for practice.\n\nNRA Instructor Qualification Target\n\nYou can pay for the class with credit card or debit card below o r if you are going to pay by check please select the "Pay Instructor Dire ctly" option.  Your spot will not be reserved until the check is received .\n\nNOTICE: The NRA offers an optional online course which you will be ce rtified to teach after successful completion of this course.  If you woul d like to become familiar with the material you can add the online course for $25.
