SUMMARY:NRA Chief Range Safety Officer
DESCRIPTION:This course is approximately nine hours long and is conducted i
 n a classroom and at a shooting facility. The CRSO class enables you to c
 onduct classes for RSO candidates.  If you have not had a Basic Instructo
 r Training (BIT) course in the previous 2 years\, remember a BIT course is
  required to obtain your CRSO credentials.  Please contact us if you need
  your BIT.\n\nIf you do not currently have your RSO certification\, you wi
 ll need to come on 7/6/19 and get certified as an RSO.  You can get a dis
 count on the RSO class if you select the bundle below when you sign up for
  the CRSO course.  Lunch and materials are provided.  We also have a bu
 nkhouse available free of charge for those traveling.\n\nOn July 6th\, Ran
 ge Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an R
 SO\; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)\; range inspection\; range
  rules\; range briefings\; emergency procedures\; and firearm stoppages an
 d malfunctions. Each Range Safety Officer Candidate will receive an RSO St
 udent Study Guide\, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure\, an NRA Gun
  Safety Rules brochure\, an Instructor Application/Course Evaluation form.
 \n\nNRA Range Safety Officers possess the knowledge\, skills\, and attitud
 e essential to organizing\, conducting\, and supervising safe shooting act
 ivities and range operations indoors and outdoors.\n\nThe NRA developed it
 s program in response to the demand for a nationally-recognized Range Safe
 ty Officer ("RSO") certification. Our class and the certification should b
 e especially valuable to firearms instructors including CHP instructors.\n
 \nIn review\, If you do not have any current credentials\, you will need t
 he RSO(7/6/19)\, BIT\, and CRSO(7/7/19) course to become a CRSO.  If you 
 are currently an instructor and you have had your BIT within the past 2 ye
 ars\, you can skip the BIT.  If you are a current RSO and you have  comp
 leted the BIT in the past 2 years you will only need the 7/7/19 CRSO cours
 e.
