SUMMARY:NRA Chief Range Safety Officer
DESCRIPTION:This course is approximately nine hours long and is conducted i
 n a classroom and at a shooting facility. The CRSO class enables you to c
 onduct classes for RSO candidates.  If you have not had a Basic Instructo
 r Training (BIT) course in the previous 2 years\, remember a BIT course is
  required to obtain your CRSO credentials.  Please contact us if you need
  your BIT.\n\nIf you do not currently have your RSO certification\, you wi
 ll need to come on 12/16/18 and get certified as an RSO.  You can get a d
 iscount on the RSO class if you select the bundle below when you sign up f
 or the CRSO course.  Lunch and materials are provided.  We also have a 
 bunkhouse available free of charge for those traveling.\n\nOn December 15t
 h\, Range Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities 
 of an RSO\; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)\; range inspection\
 ; range rules\; range briefings\; emergency procedures\; and firearm stopp
 ages and malfunctions. Each Range Safety Officer Candidate will receive an
  RSO Student Study Guide\, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure\, an 
 NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure\, an Instructor Application/Course Evaluatio
 n form.\n\nNRA Range Safety Officers possess the knowledge\, skills\, and 
 attitude essential to organizing\, conducting\, and supervising safe shoot
 ing activities and range operations indoors and outdoors.\n\nThe NRA devel
 oped its program in response to the demand for a nationally-recognized Ran
 ge Safety Officer ("RSO") certification. Our class and the certification s
 hould be especially valuable to firearms instructors including CHP instruc
 tors.\n\nIn review\, If you do not have any current credentials\, you will
  need the RSO(12/15/18)\, BIT\, and CRSO(12/16/18) course to become a CRSO
 .  If you are currently an instructor and you have had your BIT within th
 e past 2 years\, you can skip the BIT.  If you are a current RSO and you 
 have  completed the BIT in the past 2 years you will only need the 12/16/
 18 CRSO course.
