SUMMARY:NRA Chief Range Safety Officer
DESCRIPTION:This course is approximately nine hours long and is conducted i
 n a classroom at the Nebraska Shooters Training facility near Firth\, NE. 
 The CRSO certification enables you to conduct classes for RSO candidates.
   If you have not had a Basic Instructor Training (BIT) course in the pre
 vious 2 years\, remember a BIT course is required to obtain your CRSO cred
 entials.\nIf you do not currently have your RSO certification\, you will n
 eed to come to Nebraska Shooters' facility on 1/23/26 and add the RSO cour
 se to your registration below.  If you have not had the Basic Instructor 
 Training within the past 2 years\, you will need to take a refresher.  We
  have several instructor classes offering refreshers prior to this class w
 hich you can attend or we will do it on the Friday evening at 5:30 pm prio
 r to the RSO/CRSO class (1/23/26).\n\nRange Safety Officer candidates will
  learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO\; Range Standard Operating Pro
 cedures (SOPs)\; range inspection\; range rules\; range briefings\; emerge
 ncy procedures\; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions. Each Range Safety
  Officer Candidate will receive an RSO Student Study Guide\, a Basic Firea
 rm Training Program brochure\, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure\, an Instr
 uctor Application/Course Evaluation form.\n\nNRA Range Safety Officers pos
 sess the knowledge\, skills\, and attitude essential to organizing\, condu
 cting\, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations indo
 ors and outdoors.\n\nThe NRA developed its program in response to the dema
 nd for a nationally-recognized Range Safety Officer ("RSO") certification.
  Our class and the certification should be especially valuable to firearms
  instructors including CHP instructors.\n\nIn review\, If you do not have 
 any current credentials\, you will need the RSO(1/24/26)\, BIT (1/23/26)\,
  and CRSO(1/25/26) course to become a CRSO.  If you are currently an inst
 ructor and you have had your BIT within the past 2 years\, you can skip th
 e BIT.  If you are a current RSO and you have  completed the BIT in the 
 past 2 years you will only need the 1/25/26 CRSO course.\n\nLunch will be 
 provided. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.\n\n&nbs
