SUMMARY:NRA Chief Range Safety Officer
DESCRIPTION:This course is approximately nine hours long and is conducted i
 n a classroom at the Nebraska Shooters Training facility near Firth\, NE. 
 The CRSO certification enables you to conduct classes for RSO candidates.
   If you have not had a Basic Instructor Training (BIT) course in the pre
 vious 2 years\, remember a BIT course is required to obtain your CRSO cred
 entials.\nIf you do not currently have your RSO certification\, you will n
 eed to come to Nebraska Shooters' facility on 6/29/24 and add the RSO cour
 se to your registration below.  If you have not had the Basic Instructor 
 Training within the past 2 years\, you will need to take a refresher.  We
  have several instructor classes offering refreshers prior to this class w
 hich you can attend or we will do it on the Friday evening prior to the RS
 O class (6/28/24).\n\nRange Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and
  responsibilities of an RSO\; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)\;
  range inspection\; range rules\; range briefings\; emergency procedures\;
  and firearm stoppages and malfunctions. Each Range Safety Officer Candida
 te will receive an RSO Student Study Guide\, a Basic Firearm Training Prog
 ram brochure\, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure\, an Instructor Applicatio
 n/Course Evaluation form.\n\nNRA Range Safety Officers possess the knowled
 ge\, skills\, and attitude essential to organizing\, conducting\, and supe
 rvising safe shooting activities and range operations indoors and outdoors
 .\n\nThe NRA developed its program in response to the demand for a nationa
 lly-recognized Range Safety Officer ("RSO") certification. Our class and t
 he certification should be especially valuable to firearms instructors inc
 luding CHP instructors.\n\nIn review\, If you do not have any current cred
 entials\, you will need the RSO(6/29/24)\, BIT (6/28/24)\, and CRSO(6/30/2
 4) course to become a CRSO.  If you are currently an instructor and you h
 ave had your BIT within the past 2 years\, you can skip the BIT.  If you 
 are a current RSO and you have  completed the BIT in the past 2 years you
  will only need the 6/30/24 CRSO course.\n\nPlease bring a sack lunch sinc
 e there are not restaurants nearby and we will likely have a working lunch
