SUMMARY:NRA Chief Range Safety Officer
DESCRIPTION:This course is approximately nine hours long and is conducted i
 n a classroom at the Nebraska Shooters Training facility near Firth\, NE. 
 The CRSO certification enables you to conduct classes for RSO candidates.
   If you have not had a Basic Instructor Training (BIT) course in the pre
 vious 2 years\, remember a BIT course is required to obtain your CRSO cred
 entials.\nIf you do not currently have your RSO certification\, you will n
 eed to come to Nebraska Shooters' facility on 3/4/23 and add the RSO cours
 e to your registration below.\n\nRange Safety Officer candidates will lear
 n roles and responsibilities of an RSO\; Range Standard Operating Procedur
 es (SOPs)\; range inspection\; range rules\; range briefings\; emergency p
 rocedures\; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions. Each Range Safety Offi
 cer Candidate will receive an RSO Student Study Guide\, a Basic Firearm Tr
 aining Program brochure\, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure\, an Instructor
  Application/Course Evaluation form.\n\nNRA Range Safety Officers possess 
 the knowledge\, skills\, and attitude essential to organizing\, conducting
 \, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations indoors a
 nd outdoors.\n\nThe NRA developed its program in response to the demand fo
 r a nationally-recognized Range Safety Officer ("RSO") certification. Our 
 class and the certification should be especially valuable to firearms inst
 ructors including CHP instructors.\n\nIn review\, If you do not have any c
 urrent credentials\, you will need the RSO(3/4/23)\, BIT (3/31/23 evening)
 \, and CRSO(4/1/23) course to become a CRSO.  If you are currently an ins
 tructor and you have had your BIT within the past 2 years\, you can skip t
 he BIT.  If you are a current RSO and you have  completed the BIT in the
  past 2 years you will only need the 4/1/23 CRSO course.\n\nPlease bring a
  sack lunch since there are not restaurants nearby and we will likely have
  a working lunch.\n\n&nbsp\;
