Al l participants will be required to provide photo ID prior to starting the class.  All participants will be required to pass an immediate action ski lls assessment and a pistol qualification course to pass the class.\n\nCou rse Description: this course builds on the thought process of:  “The pu rpose of my pistol is to give me a chance to get to my rifle.”  Everyda y\, responsible gun owners purchase AR style platforms with the intention of having a tool to protect themselves and their belongings.  After purch asing the AR\, the new owner zeros the sights\, and then plans to learn ev erything they can about the proper use and techniques of using an AR platf orm only to be greatly disappointed when they discover this type of traini ng is just not available.  This is no longer the case.  Our 1-Day Defens ive Rifle Course gives you additional shooting techniques as well as build ing the skills for later development of skills.\n\n \;\n\nDefensive Ri fle is an intense 1-day firearms training course that focuses on tactical movement\, rapid target acquisition\, and develops the student’s skills in immediate action drills\, rapid reloading\, tactical reloading\, and th e building blocks for advanced shooting skills.  Skills will be developed in both a classroom setting and while on the range using dynamic actions with an AR style platform.\n\n \;\n\nStudents will be instructed in si tuational awareness drills as well as tactical skills that will enable the m to quickly and efficiently engage targets\, clear malfunctions\, move ef fectively while performing multiple complex tasks.\n\n \;\n\nBecause o f the level of skill that is needed to develop and learn these skills\, st udents should realize that this is a fast paced and physically demanding f irearms training course! Students will be required to move\, turn\, pivot\ , kneel\, and move from both a prone and supine position.  Students shoul d arrive for class in good physical condition\, have reliable equipment th at they are familiar with and have solid marksmanship/pistol handling skil ls established prior to attending this firearms training course.\n\n \ ;\n\nThe following firearms training topics will be covered:\n\nOverall Sk ill Assessment\n\nTactical stance and the fundamentals of tactical movemen t\n\nRapid Sight/target acquisition while on the move\n\nClose Quarter Hig h Speed Target Engagement Exercises\n\nSpeed reloading and tactical reload s\n\nMultiple Targets – Static\n\nImmediate action/malfunction drills\n\ nClose Quarter Evaluation Exercise / Skill Assessment\n\nImmediate Action/ Malfunction Skill Review and Assessment\n\nStrong hand/weak hand transitio nal exercises.\n\nMental conditioning and situational awareness (O.O.D.A. loop)\n\nReview of firearms marksmanship fundamentals.\n\nFirearm retentio n introduction.\n\nPresentation of the rifle from low ready and ready.\n\n Tactical shooting concepts.\n\nMoving from the line and lateral movement.\ n\nScanning for threats and additional target acquisition.\n\nEngaging tar gets while advancing\, withdrawing and moving laterally.\n\nEngaging targe ts from static position turns and pivots.\n\nEngaging multiple targets fro m behind barricades while standing\, prone and kneeling.\n\nCourse duratio n: 1 day class (Total of 8 hours)\n\nStudent recommended equipment: Note p ad &\; pen\, eye protection\, ear protection\, baseball type cap\, heav y BDU style pants\, belt\, AR platform rifle and sling\, at least 3- 30 ro und magazines or 5- 10 round magazines.\n\nThe firearm must be reliable an d  fully functional\, have all safety devices\, and have no modifications that could harm other students or instructors.  Unsafe firearms will not be allowed on the range.\n\nIt is recommended that a vest or MOLLE device with Mag holders be used\, but not required.\n\nKnee pads are recommended \, but not required.\n\nNo live ammunition will be allowed in the classroo m.\n\nNo firearms will be allowed into the classroom\, until they have bee n inspected\, chamber flagged\, and identified as safe.  All firearms wil l again be inspected prior to any drills that take place in the classroom. \n\nAmmunition requirements: 500 rounds (minimum)\n\nLunches will be provi ded and for those traveling from out of town\, there are bunks available o nsite with full bath's and kitchenette at no additional charge.
