DESCRIPTION:We are proud to host John Farnam with Defense Training Institut
 e at Nebraska Shooters for a Defensive Handgun Course.\nThe DTI Defensive 
 Handgun Course is designed to prepare the responsible\, adult gun owner to
  handle\, maintain\, safely store\, and use their firearm safely\, respons
 ibly\, correctly\, and effectively\, so that they are able to successfully
  handle nearly any personal protection situation.\nAn increasing number of
  people are seeking to improve their defensive shooting skills and expand 
 their knowledge about the use of firearms for personal protection.\nHere i
 n the United States\, many states are currently expanding access to concea
 led carry permits. DTI classes offer permit holders and those who are cons
 idering applying for a permit an opportunity to learn how to properly and 
 safely carry a concealed handgun and to understand the laws regarding the 
 use of lethal force for personal protection.\nThe course will consist of c
 lassroom lecture/demonstration and live-fire exercises on the range.\nClas
 sroom instruction includes:\n\n 	Situation Awareness\n 	Threat Evaluation\
 n 	The Force Continuum\n 	Courtroom Savvy\n 	The Physio/Psychological Aspe
 cts of Lethal Encounters\n 	Live-fire exercises on the range include:\n 	T
 hreat evaluation\n 	Risk identification and reduction\n 	Lethal threat con
 tainment and management\n 	Precision shooting\n 	Discretionary shooting\n 
 	Low-light shooting (with and without a flashlight)\n 	Cover and movement\
 n 	Performing under stress\n\nTactical training is conducted in a realisti
 c manner\, stressing correct use of cover\, movement\, challenges\, and ot
 her important individual tactics. In addition\, students will practice clo
 se and extremely close encounters and weapon control.\n\n&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Cla
 ss size is limited to 12 so don't miss this chance to learn from one of th
 e legends in defensive handgun training.&nbsp\; We are hoping to get some 
 of the preliminary material covered on Friday evening and then do some low
  light work on Saturday evening.&nbsp\; Please plan on being there at 5:30
  pm on Friday and will will send more information as the event gets closer
 .\n\nYou can sign up&nbsp\;at the Defensive Institute Website&nbsp\; If yo
 u choose to pay online during registration\, the price is $675. &nbsp\;The
  price when paying with a check by mail is $700 made payable to DTI or Neb
 raska Shooters.\n\nThe classroom and range are located about 20 minutes so
 uth of Lincoln and we have RV parking available. Nebraska Shooters has bun
 khouse accomodations for those who are interested in staying on-site. &nbs
 p\;Just bring some food for meals and you will have access to a refrigerat
 or\, and microwave. &nbsp\;The nearest motel will be approximately 30 minu
 tes away. &nbsp\;You can reserve your room below. &nbsp\;Indicate how many
  nights you want when reserving the room.
