DESCRIPTION:We are proud to host John Farnam with Defense Training Institut
 e at Nebraska Shooters for a two-day Defensive Handgun Course.\nThe DTI De
 fensive Handgun Course is designed to prepare the responsible\, adult gun 
 owner to handle\, maintain\, safely store\, and use their firearm safely\,
  responsibly\, correctly\, and effectively\, so that they are able to succ
 essfully handle nearly any personal protection situation.\nAn increasing n
 umber of people are seeking to improve their defensive shooting skills and
  expand their knowledge about the use of firearms for personal protection.
 \nDTI classes offer permit holders and those who are considering applying 
 for a permit an opportunity to learn how to properly and safely carry a co
 ncealed handgun and to understand the laws regarding the use of lethal for
 ce for personal protection.\nThe course will consist of classroom lecture/
 demonstration and live-fire exercises on the range.\nClassroom instruction
  includes:\n\n 	Situation Awareness\n 	Threat Evaluation\n 	The Force Cont
 inuum\n 	Courtroom Savvy\n 	The Physio/Psychological Aspects of Lethal Enc
 ounters\n 	Live-fire exercises on the range include:\n 	Threat evaluation\
 n 	Risk identification and reduction\n 	Lethal threat containment and mana
 gement\n 	Precision shooting\n 	Discretionary shooting\n 	Low-light shooti
 ng (with and without a flashlight)\n 	Cover and movement\n 	Performing und
 er stress\n\nTactical training is conducted in a realistic manner\, stress
 ing correct use of cover\, movement\, challenges\, and other important ind
 ividual tactics. In addition\, students will practice close and extremely 
 close encounters and weapon control.\n\nClass size is limited to 12 so don
 't miss this chance to learn from one of the legends in defensive handgun 
 training.  We are hoping to get some of the preliminary material covered 
 on Friday evening and then do some low light work on Saturday evening.  P
 lease plan on being there at 5:30 pm on Friday and will will send more inf
 ormation as the event gets closer.\n\nYou need to sign up at the Defensive
  Institute Website\n\nThe classroom and range are located about 20 minutes
  south of Lincoln and we have RV parking available. Nebraska Shooters has 
 bunkhouse accommodations for those who are interested in staying on-site
 .  Just bring some food for meals and you will have access to a refrigera
 tor\, and microwave.  The nearest motel will be approximately 30 minutes 
 away.  You can reserve your room below.  Indicate how many nights you wa
 nt when reserving the room.
