DESCRIPTION:ADVANCED PISTOL I\nInstructed by Ric Voelker\n\nAdvanced Pistol
  Class is not a beginner’s course.  All attendees should have a profici
 ent understanding of firearms marksmanship basics/skills and/or completed 
 a concealed carry class.   All participants will be required to provide 
 photo ID prior to starting the class.  All participants will be required 
 to pass an immediate action skills assessment and a pistol qualification c
 ourse to pass the class.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nCourse Description: Many times\, gu
 n owners spend the time and money purchasing a firearm and attending conce
 aled carry classes\, just to find themselves let down and wanting more. Co
 ncealed carry classes give you\, the pistol owner\, the ability to carry a
  pistol concealed\, but will you have the skills necessary to defend yours
 elf or a loved one when the time arises. Our Tactical Handgun Course give
 s you additional shooting techniques as well as building the skills for la
 ter development of skills.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nAdvanced Pistol Class I is an int
 ense 2-day firearms training course that focuses on tactical movement\, ra
 pid target acquisition\, and develops the student’s skills in immediate 
 action drills\, rapid reloading\, tactical reloading\, and the building bl
 ocks for advanced shooting skills.  Skills will be developed in both a cl
 assroom setting and while on the range using dynamic actions with a semi-a
 utomatic pistol.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nStudents will be instructed in situational 
 awareness drills as well as tactical pistol skills that will enable them t
 o quickly and efficiently engage targets\, clear malfunctions\, move effec
 tively while performing multiple complex tasks.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nBecause of t
 he level of skill that is needed to develop and learn these skills\, stude
 nts should realize that this is a fast paced and physically demanding fire
 arms training course! Students will be required to move\, turn\, pivot\, k
 neel\, and move from both a prone and supine position.  Students should a
 rrive for class in good physical condition\, have reliable equipment that 
 they are familiar with and have solid marksmanship/pistol handling skills 
 established prior to attending this firearms training course.\n\n&nbsp\;\n
 \nThe following firearms training topics will be covered:\n\nOverall Skill
  Assessment\n\nTactical stance and the fundamentals of tactical movement\n
 \nRapid Sight/target acquisition while on the move\n\nClose Quarter High S
 peed Target Engagement Exercises\n\nSpeed reloading and tactical reloads\n
 \nMultiple Targets – Static\n\nImmediate action/malfunction drills\n\nCl
 ose Quarter Evaluation Exercise / Skill Assessment\n\nImmediate Action/Mal
 function Skill Review and Assessment\n\nStrong hand/weak hand transitional
  exercises.\n\nStrong hand only shooting\, one hand pistol manipulations.\
 n\nMental conditioning and situational awareness (O.O.D.A. loop)\n\nReview
  of firearms marksmanship fundamentals.\n\n5 stages of the draw and the pr
 esentation of the pistol from the holster.\n\nFirearm retention introducti
 on.\n\nPresentation of the pistol from low ready and ready pistol.\n\nPres
 entation of the pistol from position SUL.\n\nTactical shooting concepts.\n
 \nMoving from the line and lateral movement.\n\nScanning for threats and a
 dditional target acquisition.\n\nEngaging targets while advancing\, withdr
 awing and moving laterally.\n\nEngaging targets from static position turns
  and pivots.\n\nEngaging multiple targets from behind barricades while sta
 nding and kneeling.\n\nCourse duration: 2 day classes (Total of 16 hours)\
 n\nStudent recommended equipment: Note pad &amp\; pen\, eye protection\, e
 ar protection\, baseball type cap\, heavy pants\, belt\, retention holster
  and magazine carriers\, personal defense pistol with at least 3 double st
 ack magazines or single stack magazines.\n\nThe weapon must be reliable an
 d  fully functional\, have all safety devices\, and have no modifications
  that could harm other students or instructors.  Unsafe weapons will not 
 be allowed on the range.\n\nHolsters must be on the belt\, correctly fit t
 he weapon\, completely cover the trigger guard\, remain open when the weap
 on is removed\, not allow the weapon to cover the shooter’s body\, and n
 ot have a trigger guard retention device.  No thigh rigs\, cross-draw\, o
 r ankle holsters etc.\n\nKnee pads are recommended\, but not required.\n\n
 No live ammunition will be allowed in the classroom.\n\nNo firearms will b
 e allowed into the classroom\, until they have been inspected\, chamber fl
 agged\, and identified as safe.  All firearms will again be inspected pri
 or to any drills that take place in the classroom.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nAmmunitio
 n requirements: 500 rounds (minimum)\n\nFree bunkhouse accommodations avai
 lable for those traveling from out of town.
