CAS RO2 COURSE
Cowboy Action Shooting Range Operations Safety Course, Level 2
Instructed by Robert Thompson “Dalton Masterson” (SASS #51139) and Freeda Thompson “Freeda Bee Mee” (SASS #56443)
Upon completion of an RO II course, the student will be a SASS Certified Range Officer and have the knowledge of all aspects necessary to safely assist a shooter through a course of fire, provide necessary guidance and assistance in the event of an accident, and be able to enforce the rules and regulations in accordance with the SASS Shooter’s Handbook.
This Level 2 SASS Certified Safety Course offers education on:
- Match Safety Planning
- Stage Design
- Appeals
- Spectator Safety
- Duties of the Timer Operator
- Managing the Course of Fire
- Categories with Unique requirements
- Appeals and Protests
- Power factor and testing
Students interested in taking the SASS Range Officer Training Course require the following:
• Must be a SASS Member.
• Must have completed SASS Range Operations Basic Safety Course (RO I Course).
• Must have competed in Cowboy Action Shooting™ matches for a minimum period of six months.
Students are required to register with the SASS Range Officer Instructor.
Early registration is encouraged whenever possible.
This course is approximately 5 hours.

The cost of the course will be $25 for new certification and $10 for renewal. please bring Cash or Check to pay instructor directly.
Bunkhouse accommodations are available for the first 10 requests for a bunk. There is no charge for bunkhouse use. Just bring your own toiletries and towels. Bedding is provided. There are also a couple RV electric hookups if needed.
Lunch will not be provided and restaurants are too far away to leave for lunch, so bring a sack lunch. Refrigerator and Kitchen available. Coffee and snacks will be available.
Your registration below is for the purpose of getting a head count and reserving bunks. You will also receive a reminder a couple days prior to class via email.
