The NRA Rifle Instructor Training course is designed to develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course. NRA Rifle Instructor Training begins with the NRA Basic Instructor Training class, which must be completed first. Both classes together form the required course for NRA Rifle Instructor certification. (You are not considered an NRA Certified Instructor until the NRA Training Department processes your application and issues your instructor credentials.)
This course includes the Student Course, Basic Instructor Training, Instructor Course, and qualification shooting. The qualification shooting can be done with a gun of your choice or we will have rifles available if you’d like to borrow one. Lunch is provided both days and for those traveling from afar, we do have bunkhouse rooms available to stay the night and save on motel costs.
This course requires a current Basic Instructor Training course and we will be offering several BIT courses with other instructor classes prior to this class for those who need it. If you need a refresher BIT or need to take it for the first time, you are welcome to attend free of charge as part of this class. Just let us know you are coming. If you cannot attend the other BIT classes, we will be offering the BIT on Friday November 17 from 5:00 until 9:00 as well. ( we may finish up after the Saturday class) Please indicate which one you plan to attend in the registration form below.
We are also offering the required Basic Rifle student course on 11/18/23.
If you have a favorite rifle, please feel free to bring it. Otherwise, we will have rifles available for use. Any caliber is acceptable. The qualification will be shot at a 4 1/2″ circle from 25 yards. Candidate will shoot 10 shots from each of 3 positions. You must get at least 24 out of 30 shots in the circle.
